Froody [CSCW]
This is a CSCW (computer-supported cooperative work) project created for one of my Human-Computer Interaction modules.
Froody is the prototype for a social network targeting kids between the ages of 7 and 12 years of age. It uses the analogy of fruits as avatars and a fruit basket as a virtual environment. The main innovation of this project is the ability to display the user’s current and previous mood states via different colours the fruit avatars can change into.
It allows the user to maintain a blog other “fruit” friends can read. This blog changes background colour with every post, according to the user’s mood, the same way the user’s avatar would appear to others inside every user’s “fruit basket” –the equivalent to the user’s home screen.
