Indiana Historical Society
What began as a simple redesign assignment for my Web Usability module at IUPUI, ultimately ended as a redesign work that the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) decided to acquire for the near future.
Although this project was meant to be a simple redesign assingment, it occured at the time when the IHS was looking looking for a new look for their site. Gladly, our project went further beyond the module’s mark.
The IHS’s current site had a number of issues with their overal look and feel and information architecture. We decided to focus our redesign efforts on the structure and colour scheme of the site’s main menu. We also fitted some of the current pages to the new site map, developed as apart of the project.
Unfortunately, the site does not seem to have been implemented, as the current web site hold the same look-and-feel as when we first started working on it.
The presentation (above) presents a comprehensive view inside all of the process that went into this project. Some screenshots of the redesigned web site iself can be seen there as well.
The proposed information architecture of the site can be found here in PDF format. You may also click here to see the presentation open in a new window.
