Pearson Education
Pearson Education in Indianapolis is where I worked as an Interaction Designer for 4 years.
My daily activities involved brainstorming with product/project managers and user interface designers about the requirement for user interfaces of internal management tools and education-related web sites. If I was not talking to business analyst about new ideas, I was constantly gathering information with real users of Pearson products or contextual inquiries to refine personas.
Some of my deliverables included task flows (big or small) and annotated wireframes for the forementioned products alongside other designers within Pearson’s User Experience team. When I was not doing any of this, I was either preparing the script for a usability test or actually conducting it.
I also had the opportunity to work on an interaction design pattern library as part of a new initiative within the company that began in 2009 and has now gone live (as of June 2010).
Unfortunately, this is as much as I can currently disclose publicly. By contract, I cannot publish any details on currently pending projects.
I am currently working (since early 2011) on a way to show what is important about the work I did at Pearson: the process, tools and techniques behind my work as an Interaction Designer. I know it is possible to communicate what I have worked on and how I have worked on it without exposing unreleased product before their public release. This will be represented here as soon as possible.
Nevertheless, I keep a collection of some of the sketches I create on a near-daily basis (which inform most of my designs at work). They are available in this Flickr photo set.
Feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss any of my current activities within Pearson Education.
